Q. How do I check if I am logging into the correct data file?

A. Please delete the XREF10.INI file in the application path and restart the program which will now prompt you to select a data file. Your administrator may need to assist with this. The application path will be C:\Protosoft\Xreference\ on Vista or Windows 7 or C:\Program Files\Protosoft\Xreference\ on Windows XP

If many data files are used it is easier to make a folder for each instance of the program with a shortcut naming the data file it uses. Each folder will then contain an ini file pointing to the appropriate data file. Your program administrator can help you with this.

In a multi user scenario where a common data file on a server is being shared, it is advisable to delete the default data files on all the client computers to avoid the wrong data file being accessed when the network is offline.

Once you are logged into the program the name of the datafile appears along the bottom (status bar).

Q. How do I make a contact available to be used in Job Callouts?

A. In contact information under the Network tab there is a groups listing. You must add the person to the Service Personnel group and allocate an income account for charges produced by this persons labour. You may also allocate a part number and houly rate but these are optional.

To keep a local schedule for this person you must also give them a staff role and allocate availability.

To keep an online callout schedule on web calendars you do not need to do anything as the personnel account will be generated automatically if the feature is available for this program activation.
